Thai Celebrities of Sport and Culture Experience the World of Red Bull

At the Arrival Party on Thursday, athletes, dancers and DJs and bartenders brought the World of Red Bull to Rajamangala Stadium. Another first for European Red Bull:  there has never been a party in the center of the stadium before.

Guests gathering in the stadium’s epicenter numbered over 600, including celebrities, socialites, singers, actresses and the who’s who of Bangkok’s alternative sport, music, urban art, and dance scene.

The guests were invited to experience the World of Red Bull from the very first moment they approached the entrance, as screens depicted Red Bull athletes from around the world bowing their heads to say hello and welcome guests from 10 screens along the constructed hall.

Then, emerging into the open air, guests find a walkway twisting towards the party. But before they finally arrive, guests have the option to experience 4 different ‘transportation devices’, aptly named as they transport those inside to another world – the World of Red Bull.

Performances by World Champion Athletes from Europe

From there, the walkway quickly gave way to the view of the stadium’s focal point – a world constructed in the middle of the grass. An open-air stage surrounded by shipping containers painted in the signature European Red Bull blue and silver draws attention to eye-popping video clips of athletes in action.

Specially shot clips of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber welcomed Thailand (and the audience) into the World of Red Bull. European Red Bull’s biggest heroes, as well as the 60 plus other athletes welcome messages, made an impression on the audience and added to the local flavor.

Come into the highlight of the night with exclusive performances of World’s champions starting with the BMX Flatlander Viki Gomez, who showed Bangkok his talents earlier on 2ndMay, by casually crossing Asoke intersection, made his way towards the crowd on his bike with controlled moves, flipping and tossing his bike, and body, into the air. The show continued with a salute to the de facto national sport of Thailand – soccer. French soccer freestyler and world champ Sean Garnier showed off new tricks to the crowd, making it look easy to balance a twirling soccer ball while breakdancing.

Audiences hearts’ beat even faster when they see Petr Kraus, world champion trial biker, climbing on the stage, even more exciting on top of 5metre the stage’s construction, showing the audience that the Red Bull way is never what you expect. Easily tackling obstacles, containers, and stage railing, Petr conquered the crowd at Rajamangala, after successfully conquering Bangkok traffic earlier this week.

And finally, Bangkokian are rocking by the 6 years in a row world champion breakdancers from Berlin, Flying Steps, opened the performances. For their first ever show in Thailand, the global success story perfectly illustrated how they brought breakdancing from niche sub-culture to commercially successful high-culture phenomenon. The audience was left stunned but ready for more action.
